What GPU should I buy. I currently have an AMD FX-6300 cpu. PLEASE HELP.

Hello, I currently have an AMD fx-6300 CPU and an MSI r7 250 2gb GPU. I want to upgrade my GPU. I do not want a bottleneck. I have heard that my best options are the rx 480, rx470, gtx 1060, gtx 960. I have a Gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2 motherboard and a 350-watt power supply ( I know I need to upgrade my power supply). I am new to PC gaming and play many different titles some AAA, some moba, and CSGO a lot. If you could help me out in deciding which GPU to get that would be great thank you in advance!

Rx 470 or a second hand gtx 979 mate if you can get one at then right price.

You need a new PSU aswell though 100%.

You'd have to spend some money on a new PSU as well. 500W should do it. So you GPU budget is $225 - $50 = $175? Depending on how much you actually have, I'd say your ballpark choices are (in descending order of performance): GTX 1060 -> RX 480 -> GTX 970 -> GTX 960. Depends what you can find on craigslist.

Here's the thing, right now you have cards(new) that range from $110 to around $150, let's call them the 'budget' tier. These cards will do esports games fine at 1080p and high settings. They'll 1080p in AAA games, but you'll have to compromise on settings or framerate depending on which is your priority.

The next tier starts at around $200. These cards, AMD 470/480, Nvidia 1060) will do AAA at 1080p and high settings no problem. In CPU intensive games you will bottleneck these cards. But all that means is you won't get framerates as high as you would with a faster CPU, it doesn't mean you won't get good framerates. Probably your best value is if you can find an AMD RX 470 in the $180 range. If you go for a budget tier card I'd advise spending the least amount possible because you're not going to see a significant jump in performance until you reach the 470/480/1060 level in cost.

+1 yes you need a new power supply first, 500w or better

since your motherboard is not very good, you cant overclock either, it would be wasted money to get anything higher than a 960

a used gtx 970 can be had for a good price nowadays though, so look into that

it will get bottlenecked, but you can take it with you when you upgrade and its a great 1080p card
