The title pretty much says it. I'm not building a oc im upgrading a prebuilt iBuyPower machine. I have a $400 budget on the graphics card and I wanna know what would be the best gpu to pair with a AMD FX-8320. Currently using Radeon R9 270x. Thanks :)

Solution
Since its a prebuilt you'll need to check the power supply before we can be sure the next range of cards are a good idea. What is your current PSU?

If the PSU is sufficient, I would recommend the GTX 970 for your rig. At 1080p you will max out every game on Ultra, and have a more effcient card than the R9 390. For a pre-build running the FX-8320 the GTX 970 would be a great choice, as long as your PSU can handle it.

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ($328.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Solution
As long as the PSU and case can handle the hotter card. I didn't recommend the R9 390 specifically because it's an iBuyPower pre-built.

That said, as Blackbird mentioned if you have good cooling and a good PSU that can handle the R9 390 it is a better long-term investment for the extra VRAM. The GTX 970 has a slight performance edge over the R9 390 at 1080p right now, but the R9 390 is better at 1440p resolution and as said before, will probably be viable for longer because of the VRAM.

i would say this:

i have the xfx ts series 550w 80+ bronze myself, great psu, but i think that 550w is not enough for a 390 and a 8320

What about a CX750m i can get one for cheap from a friend would that be good

You were right should have replaced it faster the power supply fried itself last night :/ time to put in the CX-750m
