Agreed - the RX580 8GB and 1060 6GB more or less trade blows - not sure about Anandtech, but I thought the reviews at Tom's generally giave the AMD card a slight edge.

Also, does the OP's monitor have FreeSync, GSync, or neither?

If FreeSync, go for the RX580 8GB. If GSync, go for the GTX 1060 6GB. If neither, get whichever one is cheaper. In the US, the RX 580 is generally notably cheaper than the GTX 1060.

Gonna agree with MadMatt though, that PSU does not inspire confidence, no matter what is hooked up to it.

Well I would put the RX 580 8g and the 1060 6g right on par with each other. Most benchmarks and sites have them within a reasonable margin of each other and when the perception of fps is the difference between 65 and 70, most won't notice that difference. However the general cost difference between them right now is pretty significant. The cheapest RX 580 right now is going for $166 right now and that is for the 8g model.

VS the cheapest 1060 6g is looking like $214.

Just something to think about when making this decision.
