What GPU should I use?

I recently upgraded my pc. My old system was an old Dell Optiplex 9010 minitower.
I had a i7 3770 processor, 3.4 GHZ, with 8gb ram and Quadro 600 GPU. Since its lying there unused, I have decided to install a new processor (Core i5-3450S FCLGA1155, 6M, 3.50GHz) and Ram (which I had taken out and installled in my new system)
Three questions-
1) I played witcher 3, gta 5, dying light, etc. How on earth did my pc run a gta 5 at 30 fps (lowest setting), witcher 3 25 fps (low)?? What made such games run in such an old system? Especially gta 5?

2) It is a minitower, with quadro 600 and 250 W power supply. What gpu can I upgrade this to? Also, can I change my PSU?

3) Without RAM and Processor how much can I sell this pc for?

Thanks in advance!

If you don't want to upgrade your PSU, then the 950 Low Power Edition is the one to get. See below:

Those specific cards are what you need to get, as your PC most likely does not have a PCI-E 6-pin connector. As I mentioned before, none of these cards are yet on the consumer market; they will be introduced over the course of the next...

No, I took put the i7 from my old system and placed it in my new one. So i want to replace that with i5 3rd gen processor

Ah, that makes sense.

1) Quadro GPUs are somewhat more capable than Intel's iGPUs, and some games are playable on them. However it's most probably because you aren't gaming at 1080p that you are getting playable FPS in GTA V and Witcher 3.

2) Without replacing the PSU your best bet is a Low Power GTX 950 from ASUS, EVGA or MSI. None of those models require a PCI-E 6-pin header, which your system doesn't have. However none of the low power editions of the 950 are out yet so you'll have to wait for about a month at worst. Alternatively, since your system uses a standard ATX PSU (Surprisingly, for a consumer grade Dell) you can upgrade the PSU to support better GPUs like the GTX 960, 970 and 1070.

3) You'll find it very hard to sell the PC without the CPU and RAM. The market for half complete OEM PCs is very small. I'd say you'd be able to sell for $100-120 at most. Complete with CPU and RAM, I'd say $200-230.

Thanks a lot for your reply! So I should get a small factor form of gtx 950? and i DONT need a better psu (it has only 250 Watt psu btw)?? Are there any other good compatible GPU available right now that I can buy (preferrably for gaming)?

If you can wait for them, the best you can do is a GTX 750 Ti:
