What GPU to select ?

Hey Guys.

I have the following system and are looking to buy a new GPU. Just wanna check with you guys before buying.

Im thinking about buying either a GTX970 or a AMD R9 390.

Will i have any bottlenecks in my system for the two GPU in mind ?, and can i even run a R9 390 on my power supply.. ?

600W should be fine if you're not heavily stressing it and the GPU at the same time- it measured 500W max on the 390x and 300W max on the 380x during gaming, so I would guess the 390 would be between the two. Those both being for the MSI model, which could be higher than what other models may get.

This recommends 650W though.

What will happen if i stress it to much ?
Planning on playing new games at 1080p on as high settings as i can, will it stress it to much ? (farcry 4, fallout 4, etc)

if you want to keep your system as is a gtx 970 is a drop in


you dont need to change anything, and your power supply would give you plenty of power to overclock
