I have one of those SFF's and I plugged in a GTX 750ti without issue. They really are limited in what you can do with them, mostly by three things:

1) motherboard.
2) Physical size.
3) PSU.

As mentioned, you'd really need to watch what you put in there. However, there is a system test of power draw under gaming for an x99/5960 system, GTX 1050 and 1050ti, total power draw was about 160w.

So it'll draw about 60-75% of your PSU max power capability. The only problem is that the smaller board designs are a bit more expensive and from a price/capability perspective, it's not a very good price/performance point. Ultimately, you may be better off buying a larger case, better PSU, and moving your guts from the SFF system to a regular size case. Then you're only limited by your budget.

Will it work? Yes. Are there better long term solutions out there? Yes. If you're absolutely tied to your SFF, the 1050/1050ti is a decent little card for playing 1080p at medium settings, and it will fit your system and power budget.
