I’ve recently upgraded my motherboard and cpu but I’m now looking to upgrade my gpu and need some advice.

I’ve got a Ryzen 5 3600 cpu and 8gb gddr4 RAM
My current gpu is a 2gb gtx 1050
I get good FPS in games like gta, arma etc but sometimes in arma 3 I experience some stuttering which I can only assume is the graphics card being a bit dated?

Im looking to play games such at BF5 and possibly Red Dead 2.
The graphics card I’m looking at is an RTX 2060 but I’m not sure to go for a MSI rtx 2060 or gigabyte or another company? The prices are fairly different, I was originally going to go for the gigabyte as it’s £300 which is cheaper but after reading into it a little apparently MSI are better? Which is around £345
thanks in advance

Solution
I mined on a GTX 1080 ti for 3 months and it crapped out on me. I'd be very worried about getting a card that's been mined on. In fact.. I'd get a new card if it were me. The Radeon 5600 XT would be a great choice. Really Even the GTX 1660 Super would be great for 1080p for now. 1080p just isn't that hard to run anymore. A $200 to $300 card is golden for that resolution.

Hey

First of all:
16gb of ram can boost up your fps quite a bit. So 2x8gb at 3200mhz is a sweet spot between price and performence for the r5 3600

Now for the gpu:
The rtx 2060 is not a bad choice. It will handle your listed games really good. It doesn't really matter which manufacturer, everyone could have a small factory issue or something similar. I would prefer the gigabyte one.

But another gpu that actually beats the rtx 2060 in most games is the RX 5700.

Especially in Battlefield 5 this card easly shreds the rtx 2060 with constantly 15+ fps and more for quite the same price.

Yes, you won't have RTX, but you definitely will not get good results with an rtx 2060 and rtx on.

My option is clearly the RX 5700.
If you want a bit more, a RX 5700 XT shreds away the rtx 2070 super in BF5.

The only thing is I bought a pre built setup of the cpu Mobo and RAM and there’s only 1 ram slot on the mobo so I’d have to see if I can buy a 16GB RAM stick.
I’m not really fussed on ray tracing I’m mainly looking for good FPS and performance for games like I listed, thanks for the advice I’ll look into the RX now!

I’ve looked into it and I think I’d prefer to go for a GeForce card so I get the GeForce control panel, I looked into. The 1660ti but on benchmarks the 2060 is better performance

I’d rather go for something new to be honest bud
The 10 series GPUs are some of the most robust GPUs Nvidia has ever made but if you wanna go new I understand I have a gtx 1070 that was mined on for an entire year and I’ve had it for a a year and a half for gaming and it’s never skipped a beat it even overclocke over 2ghz

Future proofing is a poor investment. People don't upgrade monitors frequently, and by the time that, say, we get to where games overwhelm a 1660 Super at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, then 2060 level cards will be pretty cheap.
No but a 1080ti is gonna be relevant for quite some time considering even a 980ti can game pretty well right now
