What graphics card would you recommend?

Could anyone suggest a graphics card to boost this system? Budget around £100, including 2nd hand. Games like Team Fortress 2 run ok at low settings but it would be nice to have them looking a bit better.

2GB RAM
Windows Vista
MSI Radeon X1550

Could a more up to date graphics card give a decent performance boost, or the the CPU itself too slow?

i wouldnt put a 550ti with it, it will only be severely bottlenecked by the CPU. At most i would put a GT240 with it, they are pretty cheap too and it should play TF2 ok at medium settings. If you can, overclock your CPU. You should be able to get it to 2.5ghz without any voltage increase or additional cooling.

while the 550ti would be bottlenecked by the cpu, it would still make a huge difference in gaming performance. Instead of wasting money on a gt240, then getting a new system, it would be better if you get the 550ti, then get a new system to put it in.

I dont think he has that much $$$ to spend by the sound of it, getting the 550 would be a waste. If he wants a cheap upgrade, just a gt240 is fine, he wont notice a difference with a 550ti (crap card by the way a 5770 or 6770 is better and cheaper and uses less power) as he is bottlenecked by his slow CPU. Even a gt240 would be bottlenecked a bit by the cpu.

Thanks for advice everybody. Don't plan on buying a new PC any time soon and the GT240 is cheap on ebay so that will do for now!
