What happens if I plug in my USB-C charger into my laptop?

I have a laptop with a USB-C port. I have a phone charger. One end is regular USB, one end is USB-C. Its for charging a mobile phone. If I plug the regular USB end into a charging brick, then plug the brick into the wall, then plug the USB-C end into the USB-C port on my laptop, what will happen?

On some laptops, that will charge it.
On others, that will explode something.

Your user manual will tell you about your laptop.

Kids ask the darndest questions.

First, it won't charge. Laptops typically require ~19v. A phone charger only puts out 5v.
