What Happens If I put a CPU into a motherboard that doesn't yet support the cpu?

Hi There,

I recently ordered my motherboard and cpu. My Motherboard is a Gigabyte H110M-S2H and my cpu is a i5 6500. Gigabyte released a new bios version (Not new now) to support this cpu. The problem is, is that I don't know if my motherboard has been updated in the factory. If it hasn't what will happen.

You should be fine.

If you mean 6500, you are safe.
If you mean 7500, if board will come with old BIOS, your PC will not boot at all.

Let's say I have the i5 7500 and the old bios. Is their anyway to update the bios, like from a usb stick?

not unless you have a 6xxx series chip to permit the system to boot to bios to update it no.

Your board has only Q-Flash, not Q-Flash+, so no USB stick updating for you 🙁
