1156 socket ga-p55-usb3 running 1155 socket i5 2500k. I actually have 2 of these systems running for over 2 years. I obviously didn't catch the 1156 board when I ordered them.

How was this even possible, the cpu shouldn't have fit let alone boot.

It seems to be thinking its a socket 1156 Core i5-760.

What components have been ruined by doing this?

No sadly these were both new builds. I must have misread the 1156 for a 1155 when i ordered the boards and never cached the mistake till today. A. I need glasses B. I need to be sober when ordering parts...maybe both.

I do have new boards cumming in Monday but i nervous damage has been done to the other components. GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H which is a lga1155.
