My CPU was getting a little too hot. So i went out to get an new fan for the heatsink. Me being such a macho, I had to buy the biggest fan they had in the store. They warned me it would be loud. I ofcourse said I didn't care.

Well the good news is the CPU temp at full load is 41C with a room temp at 24C.
The bad news is i'm loosing my hearing and have to get a hearing-aid.
The neighbours called the cops on me for this excessive noise.
I can't hear if I turned off my vacuumcleaner.

Here it is:

Think i'm gonna buy a voltage regulator.

Don't bother upgraden your PC, Microsoft wil alwayse be able to slow it down.

Yes Sir! Thats a true Leaf Blower you've got there, there are quieter options like the Vantec Aeroflow.

Be careful with voltage regulation - some fans will not spin up if you give them too little voltage - and you would have to seriously reduce the voltage of any delta to make it acceptable in noise terms.

I had a 60mm black label model on a FOP38 and removed it instantly when I heard the noise. Unbelievable. Much better getting a big heatsink and using an 80mm fan.

4.77MHz to 4.0GHz in 10 years. Imagine the space year 2020 :)
