Not really, but I've had such a good night I can't resist sharing.

Dinged 40 yesterday with my rogue and got invited to a SM group tonight with
my new guild. We killed all the bosses and I got my Sword of Serenity and
neck thingie from IF. Not only that but I dinged again in there and I felt I
was playing a usefull part, sapping and stunning casters.

After finishing the instance and colecting my rewards I logged on my AH alt
and he had had a record day, enough in fact to get my tiger mount. If that
wasn't enough I also upgraded my chest armour and my bow with other quest
rewards.

I know it's not Molten Core but I had a blast. What is the next instance for
alliance, and is it worth repeating SM after completing it once? I heard
some nice rogue leather armour drops there.

A... 5-men team?
I remember doing the graveyard with just a 2-men team a few times. It's
easy-speedy, and yields fair experience and loot.

bah! I mean grats! :)

Only getting to play 2 hrs / day basically means no SM for me and many
others, at least by the time I've arranged a group to go in (guild or not)
its down to 1 hr and pretty pointless.

Yet i'm constantly subjected to reading about my guilds exploits and all the
nice stuff they get.

I've not seen any rogue specific drops so far, but that's just me. SM is
great to grind for XP and cash, but I don't know if it's worth the travel
time for you alliance folks.
Maybe you want to farm the bosses there for their drops.

Are you alliance too? For horde, SM is the one instance (so far) that feels
the easiest to do when having a spare hour:
- It's just next to UC, a 5 minute travel from Orgrimmar
- It _never_ took me more than 5 minutes to gather a "full" team (that means
3-5 people depending on the level) -> Every level 35-45 horde who needs
cash is there.
- For the first 3 instances, a team of 5 with the appropriate level (34 for
the cemetary, 36 for the lib, 38 for the armory) has no problem getting
through it in less than an hour. We (41 druid, 41/37/34 shamen, 34
warrior) did the library yesterday in about 30min 🙂

And boy, the experience from SM is just unbelievable (I did nothing else
between 40 and 41, and I was totally shocked everytime I completed an
instance and had a look at my XP bar 🙂.

If you're alliance, I have no idea what it means to gather a team around
you to travel to tirisfal just to do a 1h instance run, though. 😱)

NP. I would class myself as a casual gamer too, with previous own
experiences of instances being very disapointing pick-up groups. Also
re-reading my post from last night, it does sound a bit self-congratulatory
:)

I can usually play only an hour or 2 a night but I had the day off yesterday
(weekend shifts) and a guild group was headed there. I had the 2 quests
already so everything just fell into place. I'm not expecting a day like
that again for a while and THB if it had been easier to arrange and do I
don't think it would have given me the same sense of completion.

This time arranging it with the guild meant I didn't have to start the LFG
process when I logged on. I just hope it continues to work like that so I
can do interesting stuff in limited time. I can't help but feel insecure
about the guild though. It is newly formed and the first two I joined
dissapeared overnight.

I did see a nice mace drop from one of the bosses. I'll have to go back with
the same group, then I'll know the warrior alredy has one 😉

It took us more like 3 hours to do the whole thing as most of the group were
new to the zone. I was glad we were taking it slow; more time to look
arround and less chance of me making some dreadful screw-up.

Yup, I thought I was halfway through 40. I heard a ding and looked around to
see who it was only to find out it was me.

I'm alliance, and the boredom of the run was considerably enlivened by a
team member whacking on pvp mobs (normal server) on the way. Putting our pvp
on just before arriving at SM, with all the hordies hanging around outside I
can't help but feel was a little rash :) It amazes me anyone ever gets
anywhere on a pvp server.

2 ... men? What were you doing, raiding?? ;o)

The graveyard is a piece of cake, I think. But I doubt that 2 34s can
make it easy. 2 40s, no problem. But that's not what I was talking about.

Which way is the graveyard? I have a mate who I group with most nights.. I'm
lvl 42 Druid, he is lv 42 Warrior so we make a good combo and we both need
cash badly :)

This sounds like something we could grind easily?

I think I did every part of SM 3 or 4 times. The nice thing about the
different parts is that you can have a quick blast and you dont need to
dedicate a whole evening to accomplish something there. There are some
very nice loot drops as well, and as you said lots of cash as all mobs
are humanoids. Perfect for fun mount grinding.

For rogues I don't know of any special armor with a decent drop chance,
but there is a very nice dagger to get:
http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4015 (drops from Arcanist Dean, last guy in
the library)

The next instance would probably be Uldaman. Although you'd have a hard
time beating the final boss without some lvl 50's in your group.

I'm sure I will be going back to help others do the quests. If it was a bit
closer, or if the Deep Run Tram had a terminal near there .... "Dear

Oh God! Now I'm reading up on Uldaman. It's a bug!

That must have been in the last instance, right? I should really do that one
day :)

These two drop from the boss of the library, both with a 33% chance:
http://www.thottbot.com/?i=3228
http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4015
The staff is a huge upgrade for most of the casters, the dagger is at least
a nice upgrade for melee characters.

Herod, the boss from the armory, has some nice pally/warrior/shaman drops:

I even won the ravager axe once, sold it for about 1.5g to a vendor.

Hehe. At least, it's not half as chaotic as wailing caverns for example. I got
lost every +"*&"*çing time I've been there.

So, you felt the threat? Did you feel the adrenaline pounding through your
veins when you knew that every second an unbeatable level 60 enemy could cross
your way? Did you feel the kiss of death, did you gamble with the reaper for
your soul? Did you manage to jump off his blade? And the most important
question:
Do you want to become a sash cracker now? Call 555-HORD.

Upstairs, left side (without a locked door).

> This sounds like something we could grind easily?

Indeed (thanks for saucey/tartalin who showed me). The 1st part of this
instance is a little hairy, but if you pull carefully you'll have no problem.
After you reached the graveyard, there are lots of 33/34 elites and lots of
32/33 (iirc) non-elites. They drop a fair amount of cash (> 3s each, even the
non elites) plus some greens. Once you killed everything that moves, head
down to the crypt where you find more of the aforementioned mobs, plus a
boss. After clearing the crypt, go back to the graveyard.
Repeat this until you're sick of it :)

When you enter SM you wind up looking at 2 instance entrances and 2
doors.

The right entrance is the library, in there is Houndmaster Loksey and
Arcanist Doan. In Doans room is also a chest that contains Scarlet
Keys for the entire party - the keys unlock the doors outside.

The right door leads to the armory where Herod is.

The left door leads to the Cathedral where Scarlet Commander Mograine
and High Inquisitor Whitemane is, along with High Inquisitor Fairbanks
in a small hidden room.

Finally, the left entrance leads to the graveyard where you can find
Interrogator Vishas and Bloodmage Thalnos + 3 rather rare spawns
(silver bosses(?) - Ironspine, Fallen Champion & Azshir the
Sleepless).

>This sounds like something we could grind easily?

You two should have no problems what so ever in the graveyard.

And who, incidentally, can drop perhaps the single coolest weapon for
anyone below 60 (heck, I know of 60s who still carry it). I won't
identify it to preserve the surprise, but anyone who's seen it knows
what I'm talking about. I will say that I killed Herod six times so as
to get my hands on it.

Ravager? I will admit, Ravager is pretty freakin' cool looking,
ESPECIALLY on an orc or tauren...

RFC :-( The first time I've been there it completely destroyed my idea of an
instance. I just hoped that someone else had at least parts of a clue where
to go.

I've been soloing SM as a level 42 Rogue, and having a blast, I think
the cemetary is very do-able as a solo, and you really learn your
pulling methods in there. So you could enjoy soloing it...if you like
dying a lot. :)
