I bought an Acer Predator G3 605 and upgraded the GTX 645 to a GTX 970 by Zotac.
I'm thinking of upgrading most of the system e.g the Acer motherboard, the Acer case, the i5 4440 cpu and the 500w PSU.

I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on what to buy.

The budget case I was thinking of getting was this one:

If I was going to upgrade upgrade my CPU to an i7, is there any suggestions on what i7 I should upgrade to? I was thinking the i7 4790.

Also can I have PSU, motherboard and cooling suggestions please?
For everything my budget is roughly £400

Here are my Specs:
CPU: i5 4440
GPU: GTX 970 Zotac
Motherboard: Acer Micro ATX
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
PSU: 500w 80+ Gold.

After researching the i7 4790 the difference from the 4440 doesn't seem alot. Is it worth the upgrade?
Thank you! 😀

If your 500W PSU is decent and from a reputable brand, I would keep it. That case you linked, for the £26.99 actually looks pretty nice, with it being a good size and good reviews.

For CPU upgrades, the i5 4440 is a very capable CPU, I would only upgrade it if you did professional work, YouTube or something. Or you play a lot of very demanding games, mostly AAA titles released recently. I have noticed on my I7 4790k recently, that Cpu usage has been crawling up as newer games come out, taking advantage of the Hyperthreading!

Also the I7 4790/4790k are fantastic CPUs and I would recommend them in a heartbeat, especially with Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals floating about!

Thank you for the very quick reply 😀. But what about cooling? If I was to get the 4790 would the stock cooler be decent enough to keep the cpu at around 30-40 at idle?
Also do you have any suggestions on what motherboard to get? All I know about my motherboard is that it's acer and has 1 PCI-E port xD.

For motherboard, I quite like the Asus z97 range What exact motherboard do you have now. Because an I7 would work in it, and I would keep it if it was decent.

Stock cooler I wouldn't use with the 4790K, personally like the hyper 212 evo, super cheap and affective, but i'm about to upgrade to the Corsair h110 Gt Extreme for some awesome overclocking!

Literally have no idea what motherboard it is other than the fact that it's acer manufactured, it's micro atx and it only has 1 PCI-E. I can't seem to find what motherboard it is online.

Would I need a different cooler if I was to go for i7 4790 and not the 4790K. Because I'm probably not going to be overclocking.

The motherboard should be stated in msinfo. Also, even if you are going for the non-k version, I would try to get a cheap aftermarket air cooler. the stock intel isnt that good when paired with the I7 4790

the hyper 212 evo is great for something like $25

What are you doing that makes you think you need to upgrade the processor.
Upgrading the motherboard will also require you buying a new operating system license.
If this is for a gaming upgrade then the i7 would really not help, you would get a bit better performance just because of the faster clock speed in some of the more CPU demanding games, but you could get so close to the same buying a i5 4690 that you would really never notice the difference.
I'm guessing you already have 8GB of memory so more is not needed.

A new OS licence! RIP my dreams. I wanted to upgrade my PC for christmas but I don't know what to upgrade? I mean I've already bought the case for more room or something xD. But I just got my 970 last christmas so I don't really want to upgrade it again.

I was told that If I was to upgrade my CPU I could maybe run games better on higher graphics.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should upgrade then?
And yes I have 8GB of memory
