What i the best storage setup for INTENSE Video Editing.

Hi I'm planning a build for myself to use as a computer editing pc.
Here are the specs so far.
Processor: Intel i7 3770K
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: (UNDECIDED, 240Gb SSD Boot Drive, 256GB/512GB ssd for Project Files, 4x1TB Raid 10 or Raid 5)
Graphics Card: ASUS GTX 670
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (ARCTIC WHITE)
PSU: Corsair 750w

I would like any advice on storage I don't want to send loads as i've got to save up for it 😀
I would like to have it fast but reliable, with backup so that I won't lose important files.

how about fropping the 240gb boot ssd to a 60, adding in another 60gb scratch disk, and a 240GB programs/games disk. Turn the 4 drives into two raid 0's
Editing typically likes a seperate OS drive, Source drive/array, Scratch drive/array, and Destination drive/array. The faster the better.

As for backups; if they don't leave the computer then they're not a backup. I always recommend at least 2 copies, one for onsite quick access if needed and one for offsite in case your house burns down.

Yeah, i generally suggest 128gb for OS and a 1tb+ HDD for programs/other data...

For backup, i use raid 1 (2 identical HDDs so really fast read but no performance improvement in write scenario as both write the same data) i also backup all my important data to MEGA (50gb free, i have a 2tb space and 4tb bandwith for 19.99$ per month)

thanks both for advice, but i'm not sure how I would set up a Scratch drive??? Or at least i don't know what you mean by this.

Its also sometimes called the cache drive for temporary storage.
There will be a setting in whatever software you use to assign a drive as the scratch disk. Not all software uses a scratch disk, Adobe stuff does.
