I'm building a smaller pc that doesn't weigh 25 kg like my other one so i can more easily transport it to lan partys or a friends house. it will have it's own boot drive with windows and the correct drivers for the components. I want to have my savefiles avilable on this computer so i'll have to plug in my drive from my main computer and use it on the other one. the problem is, that that drive also has windows on it. Will the lan computer run into problems, or will i be able to easily choose the boot drive from the BIOS.

Solution
You'll just choose the correct boot drive in the BIOS, no big deal.

However it would be better just to copy the data to the other PC?
I believe that when you start up your computer with 2 copies of Windows, it will ask you which drive you'd like to boot too. You could also probably adjust this manually in Bios, so I don't think you'll run into problems, although it sounds like a bit of a hassle in my honest opinion. Maybe you could use a cloud based program for uploading your save files and then download them to your other rig when you're looking to go to a buddies house. Just a thought.

Hope that helps!

that sounds like a pain because i would have to update it everytime. it's pretty easy to move the drives over in my opinion.

i have quite a few games, so finding out where the savefiles are, upload them, forget where they are, find out where they are again and import them is kind off a pain with 150 games, also it's nice to just have everything.

But the windows from my normal pc wouldn't be used, as long as what the others say is true and i can choose the right drive fairly easily through the BIOS.

If you're not booting from that drive, OK.
But that is not what you specified earlier. "or will i be able to easily choose the boot drive from the BIOS. "

i meant so i could choose the right boot drive, to avoid problems.

You (probably) cannot boot from the drive that came out of the main PC.
But, go ahead...try it
See what happens.

You seem to have a lot of problems understanding me. when i say "the right drive" i mean the one that didn't come out of my main pc.

One problem I see with putting in a hard drive with an os on it is that it might not authenticate in a different setup as stated above. Authenticating it with a product key would probably work, but having to do that every time might be an unnecessary headache if that is how it will work.

There are better options depending on where these game files are setup as. If it is on Steam then what I would do is put your save files on a jump drive or external hard drive and have the games downloaded on both computers, or it can be where ever your game files are saved. Once you find where to put the files, you can easily update your game with a different save file. Plus, if this is applicable, you could leave that computer at the lan party location and only travel with the save files.

Sure, plugging in a hard drive is easy, but it is best to just have space for an os the computer can always boot to, and an external hard drive would be a cheap option.
