2GB of RAM really isn't all that much anymore. A brand new, fresh installation of Windows 7 will use up between 800 and 1.2 GB of RAM depending on the total amount available. After the installation has aged a bit,
superfetch begins to learn what programs you typically use and automatically allocates RAM so the program can start up faster.
After I first boot, my PC uses 2.3 GB of RAM, but given I have a total of 16GB, it's not all that much.
