i am also wanting to put fans on the case (it apparently has 4 spaces for 120mm fans but i think a fan controller would be needed but i know nothing about fan controllers (my case has one built in)

i would like it if the price was around £600 (£650 the absolute maximum i would say)

also if a cheaper lower watt PSU can be used (this wont be upgraded for xfire or sli at all) then that would be useful

just made a few changes (cheaper ram 8 core processor instead of 6 core (slightly slower but i expect the better architecture and a bit of OC can negate that - the fact that the 8 core is a bit cheaper is a bonus) and a 500W corsair psu)

heres another option

you would save a bit of money if you want to go 280x. i coule put a bit less of a cpu and throw in an ssd if you want. its a good build though

This has a better thermal paste than the old Arctic silver 5, a more powerful PSU, a better motherboard, higher quality case and a higher quality HDD. Hope you like it.

That motherboard is going to die with the FX-8350. That is a 95w TDP limit board and the CPU has a 125w TDP.

sorry man, but you are wrong. gigabyte lists the 8300 series cpu's as compatible with this board probably because the tdp is 95w

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3833

anyway mine is a bit of a better build with a better gpu, cpu and hdd

That says the FX 8300 CPU, not the series.

yup sorry you are right, heres the build with a 280x and a $100 motherboard.

is the motherboard I selected not compatible? (pcpartpicker appears to have some compatibility filter thing that apparently stops you from selecting things that are not compatible with what you have selected so I just went with that)

the blu ray drive may change because the build is not actually for me its for a friend whos asking me to build him something that can game but cheaply (the blu ray is because he does have blu ray dvds but as of this moment I do not know if he wants blu ray functionality) (so the £650 is the absolute upper limit)

and the thermal paste is something I will be using as well so i'm going to buy that myself (unless that nanodiamond stuff is better because as far as I am aware silver 5 is one of the go to for high end stuff - it along with my 212 has got my 2500k up to 4.7 ghz)

What PcPartPicker doesn't tell you is TDP limits. That ASrock Motherboard has a TDP limit of 95, hence the 4 pin ATX connector and the CPU you have selected has a 125W TDP. If you breach the motherboard's limit, you will burn the components out. The motherboard I have selected will support it fine, even with an overclock.

so will mine. you should check out benchmarks of the different components, my build is the best that has been listed so far

Though the FX-8300 is not actually sold in retail stores, it is installed in OEM gaming and editing systems, so I do think my system maybe easier to buy and source.

if you check back to my build, it has an 8350 and a Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 all readilly available high end components. its just the difference of a $50 motherboard and a $30 motherboard.
really not a big deal

I honestly think so.

well I have made a few changes myself (I removed the thermal paste because that's something i'm buying anyway)
the motherboard someone said would be better
I dunno about the 8350 i'm going to check benchmarks and stuff later but for now I will tell him the rough price range and see if what is there is ok

ok for some reason a load of changes I made didn't apply I have gone and remade the changes and saved it so it should show what I changed now
