i would say that the Intel Pentium Dual T2310 @ 1.46GHz is the closest competitor in terms of performance.
That Merom generation CPU from Intel is actually a bit dated and it will be rather impossible to buy a new netbook or entry level laptop with that CPU which ceased production back in 2009. The Merom core would actually be more powerful AMD E1-1200. Maybe if the T2310 was clocked at 800MHz or 900MHz both CPU would offer similar performance. The E-1200 is nothing more than a higher clocked AMD E-300 chip; by 100MHz.
The closest modern day Intel CPU comparable to the AMD E-1200 would likely be the Atom N2600 or N2800.
Many thanks for your responses.
@ryan27968 Apologies for not making my question more specific - you are quite right that I didn't specify whether I was interested in modern day CPU's or obsolete ones.
I am trying to replace a damaged laptop and I was offered a replacement containing an AMD E1-1200 CPU and wanted to understand the spec of the laptop being offered.
Thanks
How do I select 'the best answer'?
