I installed Skype this past Monday, 10 August. After doing so research on its function, usage, etc., I learned that Skype required the installation of “DirectX,” so I went ahead to search for the software, found it and downloaded it.
I opened Skype following this procedure in order to set-up my account, and successfully did so. Then I left Skype alone until Wednesday, 12 August.
I do not know what occurred in the interim of leaving Skype alone, but as of yesterday and again today when attempting to open and log-in to Skype, here is what I am now getting: A full-screen blue display with white lettering identifying itself as a “Stop Error Screen.” The “Technical Information” is as follows:
“SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION”
*** STOP: 0x0000003B (0x00000000C0000005, 0xFFFFF88004B21CC0, 0xFFFFF880068F1DE0, 0x0000000000000000)
*** asmtxchi.sys — Address FFFFF88004B21CC0 base at FFFFF88004B04000, DateStamp 54dc4ebd
I look forward to receiving any and all intelligent replies to this posting.
