Question what is a AG adapter is?

Hello everyone I have a complete mind block and trying to explain to a friend what this AG adapter is and could use some clarification.

My friend is planning on doing a water loop and came across a inline temp probe with a AG adapter.

I assume it is the piece I'm the third pic that you screw into the probe and then use it to screw the inline probe as close to a rad or res or whatever directly. So is it essentially a G1/4 adapter?

Does the AG stand for anything?

I believe AG stands for Alliance Gateway, or SWIFTAlliance Gateway, which was an interface product for SWIFTnet.

The AG adapter is the male/male fitting that is included to connect the temp sensor fitting to a standard G1/4 port.
