What is a good $500 build desktop for gaming?

My friend is finally getting a new desktop but he only has 500 to spend on it what is a good build for him? He also needs a monitor and he said maybe an hdd he doesn't need a OS he already has it on disc. If possible can you use pcpartpicker?
