What is a good anti virus virus program?

hi, i'm in need for a good antivirus program that don't take up much resources and works, right now i have mcafee virus scan but for some reason it sometiems disable it self....... so some suggestions? anything free is welcome, but if something is really good i'd buy it...

AVG is not bad.

PS: but if you'r actually looking for an antivirus virus, I think any newestest ones will do just fine

Symantec makes some pretty reliable stuff but the yearly subscription is a pain. Just find someone with a corporate copy and install!!!! Corporate's free fo life!

Norton Anti-virus is a system hog. I personally use McAfee command line AV.

Panda Titanium provides good protection (daily updates) plus software firewall. Panda Platinum Internet Security has the same protection as Titanium and adds good spyware / spam blocking.
