What is a good (free) video editor which will allow me to have 2 videos play simultaneously?

When I do edit videos (which is not often) I usually use Windows Movie Maker, as it gets the job done. I have a project now, that it would be really cool if I could do one main video and a separate video in the bottom corner like in this video https://youtu.be/N4pzt_VBd9E?t=2m6s

Could you recommend any editors that are easy to use just for this sole purpose? I tried using Lightworks but no matter how many tutorials I watched, I could not figure it out.
