I am looking to buy a gaming PC. I am a complete noob as I have been gaming on consoles my whole life. I am going to get a pre-built PC. My budget is $1200-$1400. Can I get a PC that is better than the PS5 and XSX for that amount? I am looking for high resolution and high frame rates. I would be happy with 1440p and 60FPS. Will a PC for that amount obtain that? Any kind of suggestions or reccomendaations are appreciated.

Edit: This is what I am looking at right now. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Daily-Deal-i5K-5500XT

It is right in my price range. How good are these PC's?

Solution
They’re utterly awful for the price and it pains me to imagine anyone dropping that much on a PC with a 5500 XT in it. However, if you prefer that instead of taking 2 hours to learn how to put together a PC, I guess that’s your only option.
(The 5500 XT will get you nowhere near PS5/XSX performance and will chug along at 1440p, rarely if ever reaching 60 fps unless you play very light titles or play at low settings)

I made the decision to build one myself as I was told it is simple and I would get way better hardware for my money. My biggest concern is that I don't know what the functions are for certain parts (for the most part) so I don't want to get parts that are incompatible with each other. Is there somewhere where I can get a list of parts that would build a good PC that I can use?

If you want to you can just ask another question on the forum under "components". Or just continue this thread. Lots of nice people out to help.

If you want a rough idea, I'd say the GPU should be 1/3 of the system cost. And the CPU should be 1/5. This creates a well balanced system usually.

For $1200 i think you can get a 3060 Ti + 3600 build easily, with fast ram and a nice looking case etc
