The funny thing to me is most of the games you named are not well optimized, yet you want to run them at 1440p AND high refresh rate AND ultra settings.

You'll need at least a 1070, those games need every bit of power you can throw at them. Battlefield 1 is the one that's well optimized, that's the one you should see best performance on. I hope you have the CPU for it too.
1070? What budget? This definitely sounds like a 1070 role. But right not is not the best time to buy GPU's, prices are retardedly high due to mining. A 1070 is going for $1000, which is more than what a 1080ti used to go for a few months ago. If you desperately need, you can waste money and buy the cheapest 1070 you can find now, or buy a used card.

However, Microcenter supposedly is having this deal where you can get the 1070 and other GPU's at Normal Pricing (MSRP or close to MSRP) if you buy the CPU, RAM and PSU and Mobo from them. Check with the local Micro Center and its Manager.

Beware, Arma 3 and games like it are also quite CPU intensive, so get a strong CPU. PUBG is also still unoptimized quite a bit, so I would beware.

I live in New Zealand so the GPU prices are just normal, so what one should i buy then

Ark and Pubg are terribly optimized. My RX 580 running ark on max settings at 1080p struggled to get above 45 fps in most places. Pubg maxed out at 1080p didn't get more than 60-80 fps. My i5 4440 might have been holding it back a little. If gpu prices were normal, these are the cards that would be your choices.

You could get a Vega 56 or a gtx 1070, but that won't cut it in those games at the settings/refresh/resolution you want to run at. I'd suggest a gt 1080 or a 1080 ti. Vega 64 is about a 1080, but I don't recommend it unless it's a fair bit cheaper because of the insane power draw.

everyone here is overlooking the GTX 1070 ti. pretty much your solution my friend since it performs similar to a GTX 1080 and is perfect for 1440p gaming! I'd have to recommend staying away from AMD cards such as RX 480 and 580 since their prices are boosted up by bitcoin miners
