ive been having an issue with my computer crashing all the time and the screen moving up and down quickly indicating it was close to crashing. I decided to pull my graphics card and and lord behold all the issues just disappeared. my gpu that I was using is gigabyte radeon r7 250x, is there anything I can buy in the $200 range that will run games such as skyrim at max, or something like runescape at max graphics?

power supply: cx 500
Motherboard: h81m-e34 MSI
one 8g ram, can add another.
1tb hard drive
OS: windows 10

What cpu are you using? It's just as likely that your psu is your issue instead of your 250x. The CX500 is not a very good psu at all. Is there any way you can test the 250x in another system for troubleshooting purposes?

It's hard to recommend a video card not knowing what cpu you have, but I would be looking to get a $140-150 video card and a $50-60 psu

Example-

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card ($147.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $202.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
