[SOLVED] What is a good upgrade for a Ryzen 5 2600

The new battlefield is coming out soon and I was thinking of buying a new CPU for it.
I currently have a
Ryzen 5 2600 with an RX 5700 xt GPU

So without upgrading my GPU what would be a good choice for upgrading my CPU?

I would not drop money on an upgrade in anticipation of an upcoming game.

I would wait untill the game comes out, then either

A) See benchmarks with your cpu in that game to get a rough ballpark for performance.
or
B) Test the game on your own system to see if performance is sufficient for you.

Then if performance is sufficient, you saved a fair bit of money.

If performance is not sufficient, you can always upgrade then.

I think you're right, the beta is coming out next month so ill think ill see if it runs well during the beta.
If not what would you recommend upgrading to?

If you’ve got a b350 or x370 the highest you can go is a 3000 series cpu, I’ve heard of people flashing a b450 bios onto b350 boards, but no experience doing that.

But if you have a b450, b550, or x470/x570 board, then you should be able to upgrade to a 5000 series chip.

On that board a 3600X is about the top I'd put on it, and all you really need for gaming. Update to BIOS F50d before you do. Be sure to reset CMOS when you put in the new CPU after the update.

B350's don't support Ryzen 5000.

Ryzen 5 3600 is my reccomendation. A 5600x is ideal, but b350 does not support ryzen 5000
