What is a good upgrade path for an Rx 580 and Ryzen 5 2600

I am not too happy with the performance of my pc. Since I’m not getting 144fps in most of my games.
Here are my pc specs
Ryzen 5 2600
Rx 580
Aorus B450 Pro wifi
G skill Ripjaw V @3200mhz (I have it running at 2933 MHz due to crashing)
Evga 750W PSU
120gb Kingston A400
2tb Seagate Baracuda
Cullinan MX RGB case


I do video editing, for my YouTube channel using Vegas pro 16
I play games like Fortnite, The division 2, assassins creed odyssey, Just Cause 4. GTA V

I have a 165hz 1080p monitor (Msi Optix Ag32c)

I can play all my current games at 60fps minimum but I need suggestions.

I wanted to wait for the latest AMD processors and Gpu’s to release sometime this year or next year that are supported by the b450 motherboard (if it is supported that is)

My uncle told me I should just change my motherboard when the time comes and get an updated processor with that board. (In the future)

I don’t know if choosing AMD was a good choice, I am so confused with their lineups of processors.

Any advice would be appreciated. (Is it worth upgrading now or should I wait)

Is it worth sticking with a b450 motherboard and upgrading later on or buy a completely new motherboard and processor with it.

Hi @iDevn

Your motherboard supports the Ryzen 3000 series CPU's as well as up to DDR4-3600(OC) You'd notice a very nice bump in performance with say a 3600+ CPU and faster RAM. Even a 2700X would be noticeable over your 2600. (Which is still a very good CPU)

As for GPU, a 2060 Super, 5700 series or even a cheaper 1660Ti would give you a very nice boost over your current 580.

Whats your max spend-right-now budget? That's the most important question.

i have a budget of $1000. After getting told some advice by a friend I just overclocked my processor and GPU a little. I will wait for AMD or intel to release their next set of products. Because by the time I purchase these current cards there will already be a much better one at a much better price. Thanks for responding.
