what is a good working surface?

is a marble table good for working with computer parts?

I don't have a unfinished working table and can't seem to find cardboard boxes anywhere.

Its fine, you can work on pretty much any surface, i wouldn't work in a sandbox or a kiddy pool but you can open it up and work on it on almost any surface.
