What is a high performance graphics card that won't bottleneck an i3 2100?

I want to know what's a good graphics card for it so I don't end up buying like a gtx 780 and it's held back to much because of my processor.. Which brings up my question: will getting a lower model be better or worse in my case?

need to know what power supply you have, if its enough watts and if it has the right connections to power GPUS

i wouldn't go much past a gtx 750. which doesn't use much power and doesn't need any extra cables... but still plays current games relatively well

Something like a gtx 750, 750 ti or a 260x. But your psu is a ticking time bomb and when it goes off it could fry the whole system.

I would go for EVGA 500w power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438016) and r7 260x (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131573). Theoretically, r7 260x is 430% better than gt 540.

OK. 260x and gtx 750 are equal and gtx 750 ti is 13 % better than both. None of these cards should bottleneck your processor. The best you could do without bottlenecking is r9 270/gtx 660/ hd 7870.
