What is a matter with my computer monitor

My T 42 monitor has been coming on a little red and it's getting worse.
It clears up in about 30sec or less.
Is it burning out?

It might be the florescent backlight is going out.

Backlight or inverter, use it till it dies, then replace the laptop or use it with an external monitor. I've worked on several T41/2/3 models that have this issue, but it's not just these brands that do this, just an issue with aging laptops in general.
