Is it just a MX400 or what? Is it a GF2 or GF4?

For example:

XFX nVIDIA GeForce MX4000 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit, TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "PVT18LRT" -RETAIL
Specifications:
Chipset/Core Speed: nVIDIA GeForce MX4000/275MHz
Memory/Effective Speed: 128MB DDR/500MHz

Not that I want to buy one, but I do want to know what the heck it is...

I dont think any of the 4mx stuff is even remotely similar to the ti 4's. I always thought the 4mx were renamed 2's, regardless of what it actually is the 64bit bus oughta tell us its not something we want.

Exactly, but I just wanted to know... I have read the same about the GF4 MX just being a tweaked GF2 MX... so is this MX4000 just a tweaked GF4 MX?

I just looked at a few of em at newegg. They look like regular 4mx stuff to me. The core and ram speed to seems to vary quite a bit between manufacturers, but they are all dx7.1 just like the other mx's. Probably a decent little card if you just need dvi and play a few older games.

LOL!

Upgrade to the MX4000 from the R9500, Do it Now!!!

We discussed the MX4000 a while back it's an ongoing joke, although there is also the PCI-EX version too!

No, the 9500 is a higher number than 4000... But if I had a GF3 Ti200...

Yeah Man! Now you get it!

Bigger numbers are always better.

Now if we could only get some people to trade their GF5950/5900s for my R9000, then I could do a Detonator review (gotta get cracking on the lastes Catalysts already, D'oh! [holiday weekends!]).

Follow the links to the article, it's detailed there, the core is 275mhz and the memory is 300(400)mhz, the core itself is based on the GF4MX-440.

You can also check <A HREF="http://users.erols.com/chare/video.htm" target="_new">HERE</A> for other cards as a reference point.
