[SOLVED] What is a serial ata connection for?

I am using the NX400 case by Antec, which has RBG at the front of the case, I have noticed there is a spare connector which has “serial ata” on it.

where does the plug in to? I have read that it maybe goes into storage devices, but I already have my SSD hooked up with a SATA power/data cables.

many idea why it’s for? Thank you

the manual usually explains such things. for some reason antec does not have them on the site so you'll have to read it yourself.

It says it is for the SATA connection but I already plugged a SATA connection from my PSU to power my SSD

Maybe,Is it okay to leave it disconnected and just tie it in to the rest of the cables?

its not for your hdd/ssd.

it'll be for one of the front ports on the case. could be usb ports or possible other port. is there an eSATA connection on the front? that would use a sata port.

but leaving it unconnected won't hurt anything. just whatever wants the connection won't work. that would be a good way to test what it is for
