You can use any 5.25" CD/DVD drive in that case, as long as it is an older IDE model. I don't recall that model having any SATA ports on the motherboard.

you're right about it being ide/ 40 pin ribbon cable, but the product in the link's measurements may be about an inch too long I have to to home and check. But thanks for the info and link.

Any drive which has IDE/PATA interface would work. SATA-IDE converters could work, too, but I don't know whether you will be able to boot off such a drive.
