What is a usb 2.0 or 3.0 header?

I was reading the specs of a motherboard which says USB 2.0 Headers: 2, Front panel Header: 1. What does it mean?

The header is the USB connector. Usually you get two USB ports for each header.

On your case you have the USB port, but that port has a cable that you must connect to the motherboard, the place on the motherboard where you connect that cable is called the "header"

The case I'll be buying is the corsair carbide spec 03, which has 2 usb 3.0 ports in the front. Will they work with the motherboard mentioned in the above post?

They are compatible. The motherboard will fit in the case and you will be able to use the two USB 3.0 ports.
