what is affecting my performance here?

i was playing attack on titan wings of freedom pc game with playable fps 25-30 sometimes it drops when my screen shows too many thing (buildings and sky and titans and other things)
my brother have pretty much the same gpu as mine but he have 8gb ram and he played the game without drops does the ram affect that much the performance or is it the cpu or just the gpu ?
My Hardware :
i3-2120 3.3ghz
MSI GT 730 2GB
4 GB ram

Pretty much the same GPU? Is it a 730? A 750 would have much better performance. What about CPU? Are they the same?

Resolution and settings has a lot to do with it too. Is he playing at the same resolution and details?

4gb is the minimum memory now. So adding more RAM will help. To find out for sure, swap out his ram and put it in your rig and see if performance changes.
