AMD has pretty much given up on the high end CPU market and are focusing exclusively on low end chips for mobile devices and low cost desktop systems. AMD has said nothing about a successor for Piledriver on any of their roadmaps, so at this point I don't think we're going to see a real CPU out of them again, just a bunch of APUs with decent IGPs but with rather anemic processing power.
AMD seems to be hoping that unifying system and graphics memory and using more GPU computing will make up for the weak processing power of their APUs, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that, as it requires software developers to code their programs to take advantage of that.
