I've seen this mentioned on a couple of sites, but still don't know what
it is. Could someone pls. shed some lite for me? Regards, s

It's an Athlon XP 2000 in some kind of wierd configuration on an ECS
m/b......sounds suspiciously like pure marketing hype....I've only ever seen
these things advertised on real bare bones price point boxes.

These are just regular AMD CPUs soldered onto an ECS motherboard, but with
their rating pumped up sky high. The ECS ratings and the CPUs used are:
2400: Mobile Athlon XP 1400+
2500: Mobile Athlon XP 1600+
2800: Athlon XP 1800+ (probably mobile)
3100: Mobile Athlon XP 1900+
3300: Mobile Athlon XP 2000+

Note that the 2400, 2500, and 2800 boards sometimes use Durons (1400, 1600,
and 1800 respectively).

In general STAY AWAY, as these boards are completely non-upgradable and
offer no over-/under-clocking ability (not to mention that they are
bordering on false advertising).
