So i’ve been thinking on possibly upgrading my GPU and it might seem silly too. But i figured it was the culprit for my past threads ive posted with monitor screen going black randomly. I was looking at the 4000’s series GPU’s from Nvidia and i saw ATX 3.0 for the 4090. I was wondering if my PSU even has that, it is a Corsair HX1200W Fully Modular 80+ Platinum. I feel my MSI Rtx 3090 ti suprim is having issues, i can still use it and game on it but i notice it struggling a lil bit. I dont know how to describe it, it is a functioning gpu but the guy i bought it from was used. I paid around $1,200. I dont think my cpu will be any issue if i were to upgrade it is an I9-10850k. But all in all would my psu be ok if i did upgrade?

ATX 3.0 includes the new 12V 12/16-pin power cable. But really what it is comes down to is power spike and over current time limits to allow more flexibility in power delivery. Double output for 100 microseconds is the new standard. There are plenty of 1000W and 850W PSUs out there that aren't able to handle the 30 series or 40 series and would trigger PSU shutdowns under load because they won't operate for that long with a power spike.

The HX1200 is a big PSU and already has limits similar to what ATX 3.0 includes. This is true of a lot of the higher end Corsair units.

I hope you are playing on 4k cause anything lower with a 4090 on a 10850k is a nono.
