Question What is AVR and n APC Back UPS?

Whenever my ups runs at late night, it shows AVR and the fan keeps running during this time until it turns off. It doesn't happen before this time.

So what is it and why does it require the fan inside to run and is it considered normal or something under defect?

"AVR" = automatic voltage regulation. Your mains voltage is probably sagging (dropping lower more than 10%).

So should I change the AVR setting to high or low and not default?

But I don't know about the voltage dropping because everything seems to run fine with no drops. The apc guy even said that the plug outlet us also fine

Does your UPS keep logs of input voltage? Some UPS log why they are compensating?

Since you asked about changing the sensitivity of the AVR, I assumed you had some connection (USB or ethernet) to the UPS. Using APC software or web browser.
