I've been looking up new hardware concurrently on PriceWatch and Reseller Ratings and have seen multiple mentions of "It's an AXIA!" Not one of the people who say this seem to mean it as a good thing, but what are they talking about? What's an AXIA?

axia is one of the newwer stepings of the amd chip it has been found to be very overclock able with low vcore increase

which basically means that it easier to keep cooler

also it seems to be cooler then the last steping at the same speed

That doesn't sound too bad, so basically it's just a different "version" of the chip? Not a rip-off or anything?

The AXIA core is one of the best. There are a few newer cores out there though. The AXIAR and AYHJA are both slightly better. My 1Ghz AXIA Athlon that will overclock to 1533Mhz with standard air cooling.
