I just remembered I have a brand new Samsung SSD 850 PRO that I got for Christmas that I forgot about. Currently I have a Crucial M4 128 as my windows drive and a couple of HDDs for back, storage, and games.

Would you guys use the 850 as my new windows drive and just re-install windows on it since it's newer or just use it for your favorite games or something. I didn't really need the 80 pro, but I have it so what would be the best use for it?

Solution
Yeah, it's a good time to do it.

Windows activation has nothing to do with the SSD, though. There may be some other problems there, but let's hope the fresh install will take care of the others.

Ya that it what I was thinking too. Another reason is I've lots of problems with Windows 7 since Friday.
First the "his copy of windows 7 is not genuine" deal, then some of my usb ports stopped working I guess and my corsair rbg keyboard stopped working too. Then it became very laggy when opening and closing windows (like slow motion), and now my start up speed is slow. I solved the lagg and the windows 7 genuine thing, but my keyboard and ports, and start up speed are still messed up. So I'm head I'm just like "fuck it re-install W7" and this might be a good chance to just use my 850 pro.

Ok thank you.

If everything is currently working fine on the current SSD, leave it. Use the new drive for other stuff.

That is exactly what I did when I got 2 Samsung 840 EVO 250GB drives a couple months ago.
Currently, a Kingston HyperX 3K as the OS and application drive. Working just fine.
The (small) fail potential in changing to one of the new EVO drives wasn't worth it.

I just put them in as two other drives.
