From a cost standpoint, I'd lean towards the 2400G.

A 1030 paired with something like a G4560 (a stronger "gaming" CPU) will generally result in similar average performance; minimums are definitely a bit lower with Ryzen offerings due to their weaker IPC.

Given you're looking at the R3 1200 (and not a G4560), the performance difference in the minimums should be negligible at best - ie they'd perform near identically, unless the title(s) can utilize >4 threads on the R3.

Considering the R5 2400G is typically $20-$25 cheaper (only $15 or so in prices right now), it's a no brainer IMO.


Just ensure you pair the R5 with a B350 motherboard to allow overclocking and high-speed DDR4 (2666MHz+, ideally 3000 or 3200MHz) for optimal performance
