A Pentium 3550M beats an i5-4200Y and these are both haswell so maybe what exact models would help be more specific.

I think if someone asks about i5 vs pentium then you should really ask for more info. I'd have to assume it's the same price then maybe someone could assist with finding a better deal.

Good point the low power models do make a difference. Usually though if you are looking at a low power chip you would look at all low power chips in which case it would be the same order.

Yeah, you're paying for performance per watt more than plain performance. Particularly in the mobile space.
