What is broken on this ASUS PG278Q?

So a friend of mine has a broken ASUS PG278Q which looks like this:

I was wondering if this display is fixable or is the lcd broken?
It looks like the backlight is broken but on the other hand it is not displaying anything...

I think it's the screen itself. This monitor would be considered CID if i'm not mistaken
