What is CD Burning???

So what is cd burning, what are it's purposes??? and why is it necessary to burn a cd and a dvd????. This is just some of the questions that I need the guys at the forum to answer. Please give me a brief explanation on what this stuff is.

Hello!

It basically means copying something from storage media to a disc, like "burning" music onto a disc, data like that and that's about it

And it's called "burning" because the laser inside a DVD-writer literally "burns" data on to the disc surface.

Game Freak is right. Plus it is necessary to burn the cd/dvd in order to copy the data you want on it. It is also called writing too. You cannot directly copy and paste data onto a cd/dvd!

Oh, man, posts like this make me feel so old. And kinda sad as well. I used to work with punched cards and tapes back in the day, and now even CDs are starting to age and to be forgotten. Young people now have to ask what burning is. Still, a great thing is we can tell stories of how things used to be Like grandpas told us about WW2 and stuff. Hehe....

I remember the days of the floppy disk.....I would do anything to play DOOM 1 and 2 on a floppy drive in an old machine, I'm a 90's guy
