I came across this on e-bay:
DDR3 1Rx8 - PC3L-12800U

and i'm trying to figure out if it's 1.35V or not. Normally when it says DDR3 it is 1.5V, but this one also says PC3L, which also significies it's 1.35V. Does anyone know if this would mean it's a 1.35V or 1.5V ram module? The photo of the module doesn't have DDR on it - it has PC3L on it though.

Thanks.

Solution
PC3L generally means DDR3L which is 1.35v and 1.5v as the DDR3L modules will run at either voltage. However a DDR3L socket will only provide 1.35v so will exclusively need DDR3L modules.

Ok so sounds like there's a typo in the advert then? it should be listed as DDR3L then instead of DDR3 right? (if it's PC3L-12800U)

Technically DDR3L is a subset of DDR3 so saying it's 'DDR3 memory' isn't incorrect, just not specific. And the reasons sellers do this is because DDR3 will get more hits than DDR3L, especially since this memory would work with both.

Hi Samir, just a quick followup question. Does this mean I can use 1.35V ram in a machine quick is specced to take 1.5V ram modules, but I cannot use 1.5V ram modules in machines that are specced for 1.35V modules. Have I got it the right way around? Thanks.
