what is difference between 11-11-B3 and 11-12-B4 ?

Hello,

I have HP Pavilion n003ej and I want to upgrade my memory.
I have kingston 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-11-B3.
I want to add Hynix 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-12-B4.
What 11-11-B3 means and what is the difference and? can I mix them together?

in theory it should work fine, the Kingston stick will just get clocked to match the slightly slower hynix memory

certain timings in the ram with how quickly it reads or errases information. the lower the number the fewer clock cycles it takes so in effect its faster but the faster ram will clock down to match a slower stick.

There will be little if no discernable difference in performance, it will only show in synthetic benchmarks.

The first 11 is the CAS timing. The second 11 or 12 is the version of Serial Presence Detect (SPD) used for communication between the RAM module and the computer. The B3 or B4 is the reference design file used for this design and Revision number of the reference design used.

The CAS timing is what matters.
