nas:you can access a nas from anywhere
das: You can only acces the das if the cable is plugged in.

NAS is connected to computer by networking cable

2 DAS is hard raid, but NAS is soft raid

3 DAS has no OS, but NAS has OS

4 DAS has no networking port, but NAS has networking port

5 DAS do not support network protocol, but NAS support

Depends on your needs. if all you need is pc backup I would pick a das. if it is camera surveillance a nas or if u want to stream movies ot your tv.

No I am not a specialist in this kind of stuff or raid storage. I know basics but other members know alot more.

DAS = case extension/external drives. to share over network 24/7 you still need a dedicated pc. if you can fit more drives in your pc there isn't a lot of benefit outside portability.

NAS= dedicated computer for file share.
